Frequently Asked Questions

We get a lot of phone calls with similar questions on a daily basis. If you have a general question, feel free to look below to see if it can be answered for you. However, if this is not the case, give us a call and we will do our best to answer your question.

Are you an organic farm?

No we are not considered certified organic. However, we are what we like to call a “low-spray” farm where we only use the aids of pesticides when we encounter a problem to keep costs down versus industrial farms that spray on a schedule.

Is your produce GMO?

No, none of the produce we grow is GMO. Small production farms will most likely not have GMO produce in comparison to high-production industrial farming. The only GMO produce that exists is corn (for high-fructose corn syrup or cattle feed), potatoes, cotton, soybeans, squash, canola, sugar beets, apples and alfalfa.

When will [x] produce be ready?

Your best bet in knowing when certain varieties of produce will be ready is following a local produce guide. We don’t always align with local grocery store stock due to their high import reliance. Feel free to give us a call to verify if we have something you are looking for. There is also a very helpful guide for local produce here.

Do you accept Farmer Market Nutrition Vouchers?

Yes we do, but only those distributed by the state of PA. These are valid only on our own home grown or locally grown produce which we label on each sign above (ie. no citrus, bananas, processed items). Please refer to the booklet that was given to you with your vouchers for more detailed information.

What is your refund policy?

Any refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Feel free to give us a call if you have any issues with our produce. The Greenhouse & Garden Center do not offer cash refunds.

Can I place a large produce order in advance?

During certain times of the year when varieties of produce are available in large amounts, we can place orders for things such as bushels or half bushels of peppers, beans, beets, tomatoes etc. Give us a call and we will try to accomodate.

*Quantities are limited by availability

Can we take photographs at the farm?

While we have previously allowed professional photography sessions on our farm, we unfortunately have decided to no longer provide this service for the safety of the public. We are a working farm at all hours of the day, and access to our fields outside of designated events is just too dangerous.

Can we bring our dog to the farm?

We and our farm dogs in the market ask that you leave your furry family members at home if possible, with the exception of certified & trained service* dogs. Our dogs here at the farm are protective of their home. However, should you be in any of our outdoor spaces, it is not a problem. Please be mindful that our dogs are free to walk off-leash on our property as well as some of our farm cats.
